Eating, Weight, and Body Image Issues
I truly know how much people struggle to eat well and stay fit.
In my career as a clinical psychologist I’ve worked with the full spectrum of people who’ve suffered with anorexia, bulimia, and binging—children and adults; women and men; heavy and thin. And in recent years I’ve focused more and more on the “normal”, very common, problems of overeating and weight maintenance.
My primary objective has been to help people find healthy solutions to their eating issues. These differ from person to person, but the goal remains the same: to find ways of eating that support health and peace of mind. Toward this end, I call on a broad range of skills and knowledge, using cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and insight-oriented means as befits each person’s need. In therapy, we together assess what might best help you.
I offer a self-help workbook that condenses some of the practical methods of approaching long-term dietary and self-care change. I also maintain an archive of blogs on related subjects.
